Aoudad Hunts

When considering an Aoudad hunt, there are two basic kinds of hunts to be found. There are free range Aoudad hunts and game ranch Aoudad hunts. I have both types of hunts available.

Game Ranch Aoudad Hunts

Do not let the word Game Ranch fool you. The Ranch I hunt Aoudad on are large and plenty challenging. This hunt is also conducted just like a free range hunt with glassing and spot and stalk being the preferred method of hunting.

The Aoudad is a tough animal wherever you choose to hunt him. He has great eyesight and an amazing ability to avoid the hunter.

Game ranch Aoudad hunts are typically 2-3 days in length. Trophy fee is due on the Aoudad only if one is taken or wounded.

Free Range Aoudad Hunts

This Aoudad hunt takes place in the mountains of West Texas. This area has some of the largest parcels of uninhabited land left in the lower 48 states. These hunts are conducted on many different private ranches, taking only a select few Aoudad from each ranch. Trophy quality on this hunt is very good.

These ranches are rough and rocky and have the typical desert habitat. These are great ranches for the serious sheep hunter to collect a trophy ram. You will see good numbers of sheep on these hunts. It is not uncommon to see 100-150 total and 4-6 trophy rams. It is also very important to note that these sheep have been wild and free ranging since the mid-1940s.

These hunts are 3 to 4 days in length and are fully guided. Hunts are conducted from late September through mid-April.
