Vaughan Fulton's Classic Safaris
These
hunts take place on two concessions that lie about 4 hours Northwest of
Windhoek Namibia. The total size of the two contiguous areas is just
under 2
million acres. Based on the rugged beauty of the
area as well as on the quality of game,
one cannot help but feel that this is a part of Africa that has
definitely been overlooked.
For the plainsgame hunter who does not want the tame
feeling of a luxury safari lodge on a small game fenced property, these
large unfenced communal conservancies have been a very popular
alternative.
Accommodations in the hunting area consist of a tented camp, with the showers en-suite
and toilets behind each tent. The tents are fitted with beds, camp chairs and en-suite shower and toilet
facilities. Daily housekeeping and laundry services are provided.
The refrigeration facilities are powered by gas and a generator is
also in camp for the recharging of battery-operated equipment
(remember to pack your voltage adaptor 110-220).
All the hunting to date has been
done on foot. The game in the area have always been here and
there are no introduced or reintroduced species in the area.
Ranch
hunting areas
We understand the desire of the safari
hunter to hunt on large wild properties for native game. We also
understand that occasionally, our hunters do not want to be limited to
taking only animals native to the local area. We have organized hunting rights to
privately owned ranches, being either game or cattle ranches,
which extends the variety of species to hunt.
Most hunters will opt to spend the first 5 to 7 days
hunting on the large communal areas and take a couple days on private
ranches to take a few select species not available on the communal
areas. The accommodations vary
but are typically solid brick structures
fitted with en-suite bathrooms. The rooms also have beds, closets,
writing desk and chairs. Daily housekeeping and laundry services are provided. These areas vary from 11,000 acres to 50,000 acres in size. Species
found in these areas include Eland, Blue Wildebeest, Blesbok, Burchell's
Zebra, Impala, Waterbuck among others.
