Whitetail and Mule Deer
hunts
Mule
Deer and Whitetail Deer in Montana & Wyoming
One
of the West's best Deer hunting areas lies in and around the
Black Hills where Montana, Wyoming and South Dakota meet.
The number of animals to be found on this outfitters private
lands is truly exceptional. The outfitter has a long term
lease, carefully planned food plots, and good competent
guides. This is my pick for the best value in Whitetail or
Mule Deer hunts in the West. |

Nebraska
Mule Deer and Whitetail -
This outfitter has a lease on over 40,000 acres in Nebraska. It is
reasonable to expect to see a good number of deer on this hunt and
success has historically been very good. I like this hunt for a
hunter looking for a good representative Whitetail or Mule Deer with
excellent success rates.
This hunt is guided
2x1, all accommodations, food and transport from North Platte,
Nebraska are included in the hunt cost. Accommodations are bunkhouse
style in farmhouses on the ranches hunted or in a local Bed and
Breakfast.

Kansas
Whitetail Hunt -
This outfitter offers a limited number of Whitetail hunts in Unit 9
in Kansas. The hunters will hunt on 12,000 acres of hills timber and
alfalfa pasture. This hunt is only for the true trophy hunter. Until
this year, this hunt had historically produced 33% of it’s bucks
grossing more than the B&C minimum. This years hunters were not as
lucky, but that is the nature of Whitetail huting in Kansas. Needles
to say, this hunt is not for the casual trophy hunter who can not
afford to come home empty handed. Overall success has historically
been about 50% with very high trophy quality.

Texas Whitetail
Panhandle
Whitetail -
There are two ranches available in the Panhandle for Whitetail.
Prices will vary depending on quality and areas hunted.
Panhandle
Management Whitetail Hunt
- These hunts are
priced between $2000 and $3000 depending on the ranch hunted.
Occasionally, on these hunts cull deer are available for a small
trophy fee for the hunter or an observer. A reasonable expectation
on the management hunts would be to have an opportunity at a
130-150B&C deer. Occasionally lesser quality deer will be available
at reduced fees.
Panhandle
Trophy Whitetail Hunt -
One of these ranches
produced two deer in the 180 B&C range this year. Prices range from
$3500 -$6500 depending on the ranch and the quality of the deer
harvested.
Hill
Country Whitetail
- These hunts are 3 days in duration, $150/day + trophy fees. Trophy
fees will vary depending on the ranches hunted. While most Trophy
fees are between $1100 - $2500, exceptional species may be offered
for more. A reasonable expectation is a Whitetail in the 110-120
class ($1100 trophy fee), or 135-150 ($2500 trophy fee).
Shackelford
County Whitetail -
Hunt on a large (un-fenced) Texas ranch, in Northern Shackelford
County, for trophy Whitetail. Northern Shackelford County is home to
some very large, well known ranches such as The Nail Ranch. These
ranches have been managed for years for trophy Whitetail production.
This particular ranch borders the Nail ranch. About half of the
10,750 acres consist of River bottom country as the ranch has 16
miles of the Brazos River running through it. Trophy quality is
high. Hunters can expect to see many good deer on this hunt. A
3-day, trophy Whitetail hunt is $3950. Meals, 2x1 guiding and
lodging are included.
